Peacefully situated on the edge of the Taoro Park, with direct access from its grounds, this comfortable and well-run hotel enjoys sweeping views over the town and across the Orotava Valley to Mount Teide from its elevated position. It is therefore ideally suited to guests wishing to stay close enough to the centre of Puerto to enjoy all of the town's attractions, but preferring a more tranquil location away from the busy town centre. Formerly known as the Atalaya, the hotel reopened in 2017 with a fresh, contemporary look following a comprehensive top-to-bottom refurbishment.
The hotel's 182 guestrooms are divided between two four-storey buildings and offer spacious and comfortable accommodation. They come equipped with all the customary 4-star comforts, including individually-controlled air-conditioning (which also functions as heating during the cooler months), satellite TV (limited English-language channels), telephones, safety-deposit boxes and mini-bars (filled on request, local charges apply). Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with hairdryers, and each has a furnished balcony or terrace. Sea views or views towards Mount Teide are available at a supplement.
Like the guestrooms, the hotel's public areas have been completely renovated so that the reception area, bars, lounges and restaurant all have a pleasantly bright and airy feel. For guests who wish to try out some of the different local eateries down in the town as well as the hotel's à-la-carte restaurants, we offer the Taoro Garden on bed & breakfast basis but the hotel's half-board option represents excellent value with extensive buffets in the main restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. There is also an all-inclusive option, which additionally includes a buffet lunch, light snacks between 11:30 and 17:30 hrs and a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks between 10:00 hrs and midnight (all-inclusive guests must wear a wristband).
Whilst the hotel's interiors are essentially brand-new, the extensive subtropical gardens that surround the building are wonderfully mature, having had four decades to establish themselves. The large freshwater swimming pool is heated in winter and is bordered by terraces with sun-loungers and umbrellas, whilst elsewhere in the garden you will find a ping-pong table and a boules pitch.
Those who wish to explore the rest of the island in depth should take advantage of our special reduced car hire rates (please note that the hotel's car park is fairly small, but spaces can usually be found in the surrounding streets). For guests who prefer not to drive, a car is by no means a necessity here. The centre of Puerto de la Cruz is just over 1 km away through the Taoro park and down a number of steps, and local taxis are relatively cheap if you don't fancy the uphill walk back. The hotel also provides a courtesy bus service to the town centre on weekdays, and many of Tenerife's attractions can be visited on organised excursions or using public busses.
Please note:: Due to the current renovation/remodelling of a neighbouring hotel, some building noise may be audible between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00.
