Situated roughly halfway between Puerto de la Cruz and the little town of San Juan de la Rambla, Finca La Torre is a large country estate clinging to a rugged hillside above the Playa del Socorro, one of the north coast's best beaches. The lower part of the estate is still used for growing bananas and other fruit, whilst in the upper part, which is reached by a very steep driveway, the owners have created four independent holiday homes, each offering comfortable accommodation, a good degree of privacy and breathtaking views along the coast.
Furnished and decorated to a good standard, the four houses are named after different species of palm tree. Set at the highest level, Casa Washintonia is the largest house and has a very big east-facing terrace. It comprises three bedrooms (one double and two twins), a lounge, a separate kitchen and two shower rooms. Slightly below, Casa Kentia is perfect for a couple, with a twin room, a shower room, a lounge, a separate kitchen and a lovely little terrace with particularly splendid ocean views.
The remaining two properties are a little further down the hill and form part of the same building, but with their terraces at different levels and facing away from each other. On the upper level, Casa Datilera is similar to Casa Kentia inside, except its kitchen is open plan to the lounge, and its terrace is to the rear and therefore only has a side sea view (it does, however, have the advantage of facing south). Casa Canaria is on the lower lever and has a west-facing terrace; the house itself has two twin rooms and two shower rooms.
All the kitchens are fully fitted with ovens, four-ring hobs, refrigerators, toasters and coffeemakers, and each house has a small laundry room with a washing machine, accessed externally. Each also has satellite TV.
Due to its location, Finca La Torre will suit those who plan to divide their holiday between active pursuits and time spent relaxing in peaceful, scenic surroundings, and who wish to have easy access to both the cosmopolitan charm of Puerto de la Cruz and the rural pleasures of the Isla Baja region. As there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance, we have automatically included a hire car in your holiday.
In spite of the Finca's pleasantly secluded feel, it takes just 15 minutes to drive to Puerto de la Cruz or to the historic town of La Orotava, and roughly the same in the opposite direction to Icod de los Vinos, so there is no shortage of restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets within reasonable driving distance. Between them, these towns also boast several well-stocked supermarkets for those who prefer to make use of their well-equipped kitchens and dine in the scenic privacy of their own terraces.
