This attractive two-storey complex of apartments enjoys a peaceful yet convenient position right on the seafront in the district of Playa at the northern end of Valle Gran Rey. A cluster of enticing restaurants, a few bars and a handful of useful shops for your day-to-day needs can be reached on foot in no more than five minutes, as can the resort's main beach, Playa de la Calera with its dark, volcanic sand. The rockier naturist beach, Playa del Ingles, is located just outside the village and is just a 10-minute walk away, whilst the district of Vueltas with its fishing harbour at the southern end of Valle Gran Rey is a pleasant 20-minute stroll along the seafront.
Tres Palmeras consists of 79 apartments arranged in a horse-shoe shape around a central garden. Some of the apartments are privately owned, but the majority are offered for serviced holiday rentals (with maid-service 5 times per week, towel changes twice weekly and linen changes once weekly). The reception is open from 9 am until 11 pm with a two-hour break in the afternoon (shorter hours on Sundays), but arrangements can be made for arrivals outside these hours if required. WiFi is available free of charge in the reception area.
The apartments are simply but practically furnished. Each consists of a bedroom with twin beds and a separate living room with satellite TV (limited English-language channels), a sofa bed for a third person, a dining table and chairs, and an open-plan kitchenette with a two-ring hob, a fridge and a coffee-maker. Each apartment also has a shower room with a hairdryer, and a balcony or terrace with patio furniture. Most of the apartments have pool or garden views; economy apartments are at the rear of the complex with views across the small access road towards the mountains, whilst apartments with sea views from their balconies or terraces are offered at a supplement.
The central garden incorporates a saltwater swimming pool with a shallow section for children, and sun-loungers and parasols are provided on the surrounding terrace for any days when you just feel like relaxing at base. If you prefer more active pursuits, Valle Gran Rey is an excellent starting point for country walks, and guided hiking excursions to other parts of the island can be booked through a local company. The reception at Tres Palmeras can also assist with arranging mountain bike hire or reserving boat excursions along the coast.
