Apartments Miranda

Panoramic sea views, a large pool set in subtropical gardens, and a friendly welcome await guests at the Miranda Apartments. Tucked into the hillside about 200 metres above sea level in the district of Breña Baja, the apartments are peacefully situated but are only a 10-15 minute drive from the charming island capital Santa Cruz. From Miranda's private parking area, a path leads down to the small reception building, which is usually open in the mornings, for those who wish to chat with or get local advice from the friendly German owner, Horst.

The eight apartments themselves offer simple but spacious accommodation, each consisting of a large studio room with twin beds (arranged side by side) and a sitting area, a separate kitchen with a four-ring gas hob and a fridge, and a bathroom. An extra bed for a child can be provided on request. Each apartment also has a large, covered balcony with uninterrupted views down to the ocean.

The swimming pool is situated to the rear of the apartments, within a lovingly tended, flower-filled garden. At 14 x 7 metres, the pool is large enough for those who wish to swim lengths, and being shared by only eight studios, it never gets too busy. Sunloungers, pool towels and parasols are provided free of charge, and there is a communal barbecue area by the pool for the use of all guests.

Although there is a bus stop close by, we have included a hire car, for the nearest eating places are scattered around the surrounding villages of San Antonio, San José, San Pedro and Mazo and are thus that bit too far to walk. For a really good selection of restaurants, Santa Cruz is just 7km away, whilst those who want to stock up on groceries to use in their kitchen or on the barbecue will find the island's main hypermarket just a kilometre or so from the apartments. So that you don't have to go shopping before breakfast, the owners can arrange for fresh bread rolls to be delivered to your door in the mornings (payable locally). Miranda Apartments offer affordable accommodation with a personal atmosphere in a tranquil yet convenient location.
