This small aparthotel stands at the southern end of La Palma's capital Santa Cruz, on a hill overlooking the town's port, and will appeal to independent-minded travellers seeking a convenient and authentic base from which to explore the island. Santa Cruz's picturesque Old Town with its traditional shops and restaurants is just a 10-minute walk away, although those with walking difficulties should note that the walk back to the hotel is quite steep in parts. The main bus station is equally close, making it easy to tour the island's attractions using public transport, whilst for those who prefer to hire a car, the hotel offers a free underground car park.
El Galeon consists of 25 studios and apartments, which are comfortably furnished and attractively decorated. Each apartment has a living room with TV, an open-plan kitchenette for simple self-catering, a balcony, a bathroom with bathtub and hairdryer and one or two bedrooms with either twin beds or a double bed, ceiling fans and large built-in wardrobes with full-length mirrors. The studios are similarly equipped but smaller, with a combined bed-sitting room and do not have balconies. WiFi is available free of charge, whilst the use of the safety-deposit boxes and in-room telephones is payable locally.
For Summer 2019, El Galeon can be booked on self-catering basis or with daily buffet breakfast included for those who prefer not having to fend for themselves in the mornings. From 1 November onwards, breakfast is automatically included in our prices. The reception is open from 9 am until 3 pm and from 5 pm until 9 pm for any local advice you may require or any assistance with arranging excursions or other activities (naturally, if your arrival falls outside these hours we will make arrangements for you to be met). For wiling away sunny afternoons, the hotel also has a roof terrace with sunbeds from where you can monitor the arrival or departure of any cruise ships or inter-island ferries in the port down below.
