Apartments Los Rosales

Situated just 100 metres from the rocky shoreline and less than a 10-minute stroll from the striking black-sand beach, these well-maintained apartments are conveniently situated for travellers wishing to enjoy a relaxing holiday on La Palma without the need to hire a car. Whilst Playa de los Cancajos is a small and quiet resort compared to those on the better known islands in the Canaries, it boasts a couple of small supermarkets, a pharmacy and other shops needed for your day-to-day essentials, as well as a decent selection of restaurants, the nearest of which are just a minute or two on foot from Los Rosales. The inexpensive local bus service to the nearby island capital, Santa Cruz, stops just outside the apartments, whilst those who enjoy walking can follow the coastal path to reach the town in roughly one hour. From Santa Cruz, other parts of the island can be explored by public bus.

Set around an attractively landscaped garden, Los Rosales comprises 35 serviced apartments, which share the grounds and the free-form swimming pool with a separate block of privately owned residential apartments. The apartments were fully renovated in 2022 and offer bright and practical holiday accommodation with crisp white walls and wood-effect floor tiles. Each has a spacious living-dining room with a sofa and satellite TV (limited English-language channels), an open-plan kitchenette with a fridge-freezer, two-ring ceramic hob, microwave and utensils for basic self-catering, as well as a modern shower room. The one-bedroom apartment are situated on the top (second) floor, with a large terrace overlooking the swimming pool and a smaller balcony off the bedroom, which has twin beds, facing the opposite direction. The apartments on the ground and first floors have a second bedroom with a single bed and can thus accommodate up to three people; these also have terraces facing the pool area, with direct access to the central gardens from some of the ground-floor apartments. WiFi is available free of charge, but please note that there is no lift.

As Playa de los Canacajos is situated halfway between Santa Cruz and the airport, some aircraft noise cannot be ruled out during the day, but this is not particularly intrusive, as the island's airport is far less busy than those on the bigger islands, and there are no flights at night-time. On the other hand, this proximity means a short airport transfer, so that you can start enjoying your holiday almost as soon as you land on the island.
