Panormo Beach Hotel

Situated on the north coast between Heraklion and Rethymnon, the village of Panormos offers a rare combination of convenience, character and charm, making it the perfect choice for a relaxed beach holiday without the need to hire a car. Although there are a couple of larger all-inclusive type hotels located outside Panormos to the west, the village itself retains its traditional charm, with narrow streets lined by handsome stone-built houses, enticing tavernas and a few shops for all you day-to-day essentials. The shoreline is made up of several sandy coves and a little fishing harbour, and just set back from this are a few small hotels and apartment buildings.

One of these is the Panormo Beach Hotel, situated less than 100 metres from the nearest beach and within easy walking distance of all the tavernas and cafés. The hotel comprises approximately 40 rooms and suites, arranged in an L-shape that encloses the pretty courtyard garden with its small but attractive swimming pool and sunbathing terrace.

The rooms are simply but attractively furnished and come complete with en-suite bath or shower rooms, air-conditioning, TV, a mini-fridge, safety-deposit box and free WiFi. Each room has a furnished balcony facing the pool or the small lane leading to the hotel, with views of the sea available at a supplement. There are also a number of family suites which consist of a bedroom with a double bed and a living room with two sofa beds, so these are suitable for families of up to four people. There is a lift linking the building's three storeys.

A simple breakfast served buffet-style in the restaurant is included in your stay at the Panormo Beach Hotel, and a snack bar is on hand for light refreshments during the day. In the evenings, you can take your pic from the selection of tavernas found by the sea-front and in the picturesque backstreets. Whilst those simply wishing to relax will find little reason to ever leave Panormos, those keen to explore a little further afield can make use of the local bus service to the Venetian harbour town of Rethymnon (approximately 22 km away) and the island capital Heraklion with its impressive archaeological museum (approximately 54 km away); the local bus stop is just 300 metres from the hotel.
