Casa Tia Lucila stands in the small farming hamlet of Erese, between the villages of Guarazoca and Mocanal. Originally built approximately 100 years ago, the house has since been restored and modernised, but retains many of its original features, from its traditional dry-stone walls to its exposed wooden ceiling.
This cosy cottage is just the right size for a couple, with a prettily furnished double bedroom at one end, and a living-dining room with open-plan kitchen at the other. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster and coffeemaker, and there is satellite TV (with limited English language channels) in the bedroom, as well as a CD player in the living area. WiFi is provided free of charge.
Casa Tia Lucila's garden enjoys beguiling view over the surrounding farmland and countryside down towards the ocean, and the outlook from the covered terrace that adjoins the house is particularly appealing at sunset time. Patio furniture is provided and there is a brick-built barbecue. For eating out, the nearest small local restaurant is just under 1 km away at the entrance to the village of Guarazoca, whilst the slightly larger village of Mocanal is a little further in the opposite direction. Both the small island capital, Valverde, and the village of Frontera in the centre of the El Golfo region can be reached by car in approximately 15 minutes, making this a convenient location from which to explore the whole of the island.
