Situated just to the rear and slightly to the side of Toula Studios, Kosta Reli is a rather smart looking cream-and-white building, lent an almost neo-classical grace by its wrought-iron balustrades, white shutters and the red columns supporting its balconies.
Kosta Reli comprises twelve studios on two floors, offering a choice of twin or double beds (some of the studios also have an additional sofa bed suitable for a child. The studios are comfortably furnished and attractively decorated, and each has a modern shower room. Each studio also has a good size balcony, a couple of which look straight out to sea. The remaining balconies have a side sea view, as well as views across the village to the craggy peaks of the island's central spine in the opposite direction, and are therefore just as appealing.
Modern conveniences in each studio include TVs (with local channels only) and the undoubtedly more important air-conditioning. With a two-ring electric hob, a sink and a fridge, the simple kitchenette units are not exactly state-of-the-art, but adequate for basic self-catering. As it happens, the studios's friendly owner, Rena, also owns a quayside coffee shop just a minute's stroll or so away, providing you with the perfect excuse should you have adjusted to the island's relaxed pace of life so well that even preparing breakfast might seem like too much effort.
With the village beach less than 30 metres away, and the local tavernas, kafenions and simple shops all within a few minutes' walk, very little effort indeed is required to enjoy Fourni's wonderfully laid back charms from this practical and attractive base.
