Blue Oyster Beach Villas

Situated in the popular beach resort of Platanes, these six newly-built villas are perfect for families with children or teenagers who value the independence and privacy of a villa holiday, but who also wish to have easy access not only to an excellent sandy beach, but also to a comprehensive range of shops, restaurants and other facilities without the need to rely on a hire car. Platanes lies approximately 6 km east of the historic town of Rethymnon, which can easily be reached using the regular public bus service, but the resort itself has an ample selection of tavernas, supermarkets, boutiques and souvenir shops, as well as a few bars, so that any youngsters in your party can enjoy a degree of independence that would be hard to achieve in a more rural villa. Similarly, the villas are perfect for adult couples who are keen to have their own private swimming pool but who do not want to have to worry about driving home after dining out.

Blue Oyster Beach Villas sit in a prime plot bordering the resort's long sandy beach, amidst a cluster of low-rise hotels and apartment buildings. The two villas in the front row have uninterrupted views towards the sea and are priced accordingly, but even the rear villas are only 100 metres from the beach. Apart from their position, the six detached villas are identical, with a rather striking, modern design and comfortable, uncluttered interiors. Each villa has three bedrooms and three shower rooms, each equipped with its own TV, air-conditioning, ample wardrobe space and twin beds that can be converted to a large double bed. The master bedroom on the upper-floor opens onto its own large terrace with lovely views towards the sea. The second bedroom is on the main floor, and the third is in the semi-basement where there is also an open-plan games room with a ping-pong table. Most of the main floor is taken up by the living-dining room with large sliding doors leading on to the terrace. The open-plan kitchens are fairly compact but fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and coffee-maker. Each villa also has a washing machine, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and free WiFi access.

Outside, each villa has a large terrace, which incorporates an alfresco dining area shaded by a pergola, and a private swimming pool of approximately 25 sqm. Barbecues are provided should you wish to grill your own meat or fish bought from Rethymnon's colourful market rather than sampling the wares of the local tavernas.

We have included car hire in our prices at Blue Oyster Beach Villas in order to help you explore the Cretan countryside and some of the island's many historical sites, and each villa has its own parking area/car port. However, with a comprehensive range of local facilities within walking distance and a good bus service to explore a little further afield, car hire is by o means necessary so for those who prefer not to drive we can also provide a quote with private transfers from Heraklion or Chania Airport instead.
